In Ayurveda, oiling your hair the night before washing is recommended. This allows the oil to deeply nourish the scalp and hair overnight. Always test first, leaving the oil on overnight may not be ideal for everyone.
🌿 THE HAIR OILING RITUAL:
1. Divide Hair into Sections: Start by gently combing your hair with a wide-tooth wooden comb to maximize benefits. Try the Neem Comb for optimal results. Always comb from tip to scalp.
- In Ayurveda, Neem is praised for its cooling and detoxifying properties. Using a neem comb is considered a, non-allergic, and therapeutic way to maintain a healthy scalp and hair naturally.
2. Apply Oil: Apply a small amount of oil to your scalp, focusing on the roots. Remember, a little goes a long way—using too much oil can clog pores and leave your scalp feeling greasy and dehydrated.
3. Massage: Use a silicone or electric massager to work the oil in using gentle, small circular motions. This helps spread the oil evenly, preventing concentrated, greasy spots, enhances absorption, and increases blood circulation.
4. Duration: Massage for 3–5 minutes, moving from the forehead towards the back of the head. Wrap a warm towel around your head, covering your hair and leave it on for 10-15 minutes to allow the heat to penetrate your hair.
- How to Quickly Warm a Towel: For best results, dampen a microfiber towel with water, wring it out until it is just moist, and microwave it for 30–45 seconds, being careful of steam when removing.
5. Leave the Oil on: Leave the oil on for at least 30 minutes, or overnight for better results.
6. Rinse Off: Cleanse your hair with a gentle shampoo, like the Scalp Detox Clarifying Sulfate-free Shampoo, using lukewarm water for an effective scalp and hair care experience.
7. Clean: Clean the massager after use to prevent oil buildup.
For best results, pre-oil your hair twice a week before washing.
DISCLAIMER: Consistency is key when using natural remedies, as it may take some time to notice visible result. Most users see results within one full hair growth cycle (approximately 3–6 months). Along with regular use of the oil, ensure that you follow a healthy diet rich in vitamins and minerals that support hair growth, such as biotin, zinc, and iron.
