This wasn't just a discovery; it was a reckoning. My mother lived with Parkinson’s, and toward the end of her 89 years, she could no longer speak or walk. I saw the connection between the toxic products she used her whole life and the reactive, high-alert state of her mind. She often said, 'I have no control over my brain.'
In my family, where her mother lived to 102 and her sister to 95, 89 was young. Seeing her quality of life so severely affected by a lifetime of reactive thoughts and toxic products was the evidence I couldn't ignore.
